Anomaly Investigation Foundation

organization

Purpose

The Anomaly Investigation Foundation is an independent international organization dedicated to the identification, investigation, documentation, containment, preservation, and neutralization of anomalous phenomena that pose a threat to humanity, civilization or the stability of reality.

The Foundation recognizes the term “Anomaly” as any object, entity, location, phenomenon, event, substance, or concept that cannot be adequately explained by established scientific understanding or that demonstrates properties which violate the known laws of nature.

Operating through a global network of secure facilities, laboratories, containment complexes, and field offices, the AIFAnomaly Investigation Foundation employs personnel from a broad range of disciplines, including scientific research, engineering, medicine, security, intelligence, logistics, ethics, and specialized military operations.

While many anomalies represent significant dangers, countless others possess immense scientific, medical, historical, or technological value. The Foundation therefore rejects indiscriminate destruction in favor of careful investigation and responsible containment whenever feasible.

The AIFAnomaly Investigation Foundation functions independently of any single government, military alliance, corporation, or political organization. Although it cooperates with international authorities when required, its decisions are guided solely by its mission to safeguard humanity against anomalous threats.

Objectives

  1. Investigate

The Foundation’s first priority is to locate and identify anomalous phenomena, gathering all available information (witness statements, historical records, physical evidence, audiovisual documentation, environmental readings, and intelligence reports) before direct intervention is authorized.

The investigation should try to answer what the anomaly is, where it originated, when and why the anomalous activity began, how many victims it has affected, how it behaves, and what risks it presents if confronted by the AIFAnomaly Investigation Foundation.

No anomaly is considered understood without first being thoroughly investigated.

  2. Contain

Once an anomaly has been identified, the Foundation must establish and perform a method to safely secure, isolate, or supervise it. Procedures may involve physical containment cells, environmental controls with surveillance, relocation, or diplomacy.

The purpose of containment is to prevent the anomaly from causing unnecessary casualties while allowing further study.

Containment is truly considered successful once an anomaly no longer presents an uncontrolled threat to personnel, civilians, or the environment.

  3. Understand

Every anomaly undergoes continuous scientific research to determine the mechanisms behind its anomalous properties. Researchers seek to unveil:

    • The anomaly’s origin.
    • The principles governing its abilities.
    • Behavioral patterns.
    • Weaknesses and limitations.
    • Potential methods of control.
    • Interactions with personnel and other anomalies.
    • Long-term effects on reality or technology.

The Foundation recognizes that understanding an anomaly greatly improves both containment efficiency and operational safety.

  4. Assess

Following previous steps, the Foundation conducts a comprehensive assessment to determine the anomaly’s long-term disposition, evaluating the anomalies by danger, usefulness, value, ethical considerations and containment feasibility.

The outcome of an assessment generally falls into one of the following categories:

    • Beneficial: If an anomaly can safely advance scientific knowledge, medicine, engineering, or Foundation operations, it may be approved for controlled utilization under strict supervision.
    • Stable: Anomalies that pose little or manageable danger are to remain contained for continued observation and future study.
    • Hostile: Anomalies that present significant danger but remain containable shall remain under permanent containment, with security measures adjusted according to the evolving threat.
    • Critical: If an anomaly cannot be safely contained and presents an unacceptable threat to humanity, civilization, or reality itself, the High Council may authorize neutralization. Such measures are considered a last resort and require exhaustive review before implementation.

History

The AIFAnomaly Investigation Foundation traces its origins to a series of unexplained paranormal incidents investigated by Juan Castillo, then an independent paranormal investigator, and Marcos Andorra, a field operations specialist and long-time associate. Their partnership would ultimately become the cornerstone of one of the largest anomalous organizations in modern history.

The Castro Family

The Foundation’s earliest recorded event occurred during an operation involving the daughter of renowned millionaire ambassador Enrique Castro. The young woman, Paula Castro, had become the victim of a hostile incorporeal entity whose characteristics closely resembled historical descriptions of a demonic spirit found in various theological and occult traditions such as demonology explanations made by Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Prior to this incident, Juan Castillo had spent years investigating hauntings, folklore, unexplained disappearances, and other alleged supernatural phenomena. During one of these investigations, he met Marcos Andorra in a small paranormal supply shop.

While initially skeptical of Castillo’s methods, Andorra soon joined him in the field, and the two began conducting investigations throughout the country. Over the following years they encountered numerous unexplained events, gradually concluding that many paranormal reports were manifestations of genuine phenomena that could neither be explained by conventional science nor dismissed as superstition.

The Beginning

The successful rescue of Enrique Castro’s daughter marked a turning point in their careers. Grateful for the preservation of his daughter’s life, Castro agreed to finance Castillo’s vision of creating an organization dedicated to the systematic investigation of paranormal phenomena. His financial backing, together with the influence of his social and political connections, allowed the newly established organization to acquire its first headquarters, recruit personnel, and begin formal operations.

Initially, the organization functioned as a private paranormal investigation agency. Its objectives consisted primarily of documenting hauntings, investigating alleged supernatural occurrences, providing consultation services, and assisting civilians affected by unexplained events. At this stage, operations remained relatively small in scale, with only a handful of investigators, technicians, and support personnel. It was called the PIAParanormal Investigation Agency.

The View

The Foundation’s direction changed dramatically following the recruitment of Dr. Alice Indova, an accomplished theoretical physicist and researcher. Rather than treating each incident as an isolated paranormal event, Dr. Indova proposed a comprehensive scientific framework capable of studying every unexplained phenomenon under a single discipline. She introduced the term “Anomaly” as the Foundation’s standard classification for any entity, object, location, phenomenon, or event that violated established scientific understanding.

This paradigm shift transformed the organization. Research laboratories were established, standardized containment procedures were developed, and the Foundation gradually abandoned the traditional language of ghosts, spirits, curses, and monsters in favor of scientific observation, experimentation, and classification.

As investigations expanded, it became increasingly evident that humanity was entering a new era. Across the world, governments, corporations, criminal organizations, and private individuals had begun discovering and exploiting anomalous phenomena for political influence, military superiority, economic gain, and personal ambition. Numerous incidents demonstrated the catastrophic consequences of allowing anomalies to remain uncontrolled. 1

A True Organization

Recognizing that isolated investigation alone would no longer suffice, Juan Castillo reorganized the agency into the Anomaly Investigation Foundation, an independent international organization dedicated not only to the investigation of anomalies but also to their containment, documentation, preservation, and, when necessary, neutralization.

During this period, many of the Foundation’s future leaders joined the organization. Specialists from diverse scientific, medical, engineering, military, intelligence, and administrative backgrounds established the departments that continue to define the Foundation’s structure today. Their combined expertise transformed a modest investigative agency into a multidisciplinary institution capable of responding to threats on a global scale.

As its operational capabilities expanded, the Foundation developed standardized containment facilities, established specialized research divisions, organized international recovery expeditions, and created permanent security and rapid-response forces.

Over time, the Foundation’s scientific achievements, technological innovations, and operational success enabled it to become financially self-sufficient. While Enrique Castro’s initial investment was indispensable during the organization’s formative years, the Foundation gradually achieved complete economic independence through proprietary research contracts, licensed technological developments, government partnerships, private donations, and internally managed assets.

Today, the Anomaly Investigation Foundation operates many facilities, research laboratories, containment complexes, and field offices across the globe. Thousands of researchers, engineers, physicians, security personnel, recovery specialists, and combatant operatives work together under a unified mission.
